Dr. Peyman Raoofi is a California licensed clinical psychologist with an extensive academic, clinical, and leadership background in psychology, mental health advocacy, and nonprofit service. He earned his bachelor's degree in Psychology, graduating summa cum laude from California State University, Northridge. He went on to receive his master's degree in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology and his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University.
Dr. Raoofi has completed specialized training in the science of well-being and health psychology through programs at Johns Hopkins University and Yale University. He has authored and co-authored multiple research publications on Autism Spectrum Disorder and continues to contribute to the advancement of evidence-based mental health care.
He is the founder and director of Therapy Zone, a private practice in Los Angeles where he provides psychotherapy for individuals, couples, and families. In addition, he serves as a consulting psychologist for several long-term care facilities and nursing homes and supervises social workers at Sinai Adult Health Care Center.
Dr. Raoofi is widely recognized for his leadership in professional, humanitarian, and nonprofit organizations. He serves as the 2024 President of the Los Angeles County Psychological Association, Treasurer of the Iranian Psychological Association of America, Executive Director of Ayeneh Foundation, Chairman of the Board of Save a Child International Foundation, and Founder and CEO of Children Global Health, a California nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access to mental and physical healthcare for children around the world. He previously served as President of Child Foundation USA.
He also serves as a Board Member and Chair of the 2026 Convention Committee for the California Psychological Association and is a member of the Executive Committee of the Psychology Coalition at the United Nations, where he contributes to global mental health advocacy, policy development, and international collaboration.
Dr. Raoofi's dedication to public service has been recognized nationally and internationally. He is a recipient of the Gold President's Volunteer Service Award under President George W. Bush and the President's Call to Service Award under President Barack Obama. He has also been named an Honorary Ambassador by UNICEF and was recognized as a Mental Health Hero by The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
An internationally recognized speaker, Dr. Raoofi has presented at numerous prestigious universities and organizations, including MIT, UCLA, USC, California State University, Los Angeles, The Chicago School, the California School of Professional Psychology, Pepperdine University, Sharif University of Technology, and the University of Tehran. His expertise has also been featured in national and international media, including Voice of America, BBC, NBC, Spectrum News, Manoto TV, GEM TV, Radio Hamrah, and KIRN 670 AM.
Through his clinical practice, research, nonprofit leadership, and international advocacy, Dr. Raoofi remains committed to advancing mental health, promoting psychological well-being, and improving access to quality healthcare for underserved communities worldwide.
